NOA project

NOA project took place in the island of Rhodes, Greece, during the summer of '22

I was going from one village to the next with my bicycle loaded with painting materials. With the collaboration of the municipality of the island, each village was informed and those interested were meeting at each village's central square.

From there we would walk a short hike to a natural spot nearby the village, where we would sit on the ground and paint. The painting circles as I liked to call them was a project empowered by an artist award from ISNF, in collaboration with Rhodian municipality and my friend Nikos Xalimourdas, who would meet me each weekend and refuel my bicycle's baggage with new materials.

It was a project that filled everyone who participated with joy, creativity and hope.

44 3-hour workshops were held, one for each village of the island of Rhodes (42) plus two workshops at the city.

The ritual for each workshop involved the breaking of the ice between the team through the hike, an hymn to muse Calliope that I would put in the speaker and introduce the participants to the arts, along with a music playlist of my choice that would encourage the flow of color and creativity.

The work was later presented in the building of the Auberge de France, in the Medieval Castle of Rhodes island, during a ten day exhibition.
