Oval field

Oval field was a participatory performance, designated within a wheat field.

A gardener was directed to cut an oval field in the midst of a dried, blonde wheat field during the summer of 2020. This was the artist's personal space and 7 plates of cement were placed within, each representing one chakra - energy center of the human body, according to eastern traditions.

Visitors were encouraged to take a stone or plate themselves - there were available and colors too, find their place within the field and create.

There was an instruction about observing silence during the creative process.

Creative noise was encouraged, other than spoken language, unless it was a song, chant, humming..

The performance was held at a part of the Art Park in Rhodes island, with the assistance of the space holder (owner) fellow artist Damon Papakyriakou.

The performance ended with me finishing the painting upon the plates during the full moon, whilst a musician played gaida, an ancient Thracian bagpipe.
